Phew. I have been placed at Tekion Corp :)

Everything fell into place this month:

  • 14th August won the Futsal Tournament in College
  • 20th August, exams ended.
  • 24th August, physical online assessment in college lab
  • 29th August, interview.
  • 1st September, got selected.

A bit of context about my college.

One of the best thing about my college: they complete 4 year B. Tech syllabus in 3 years. In the last year you can devote your entire time to placement preparation. If you get placed and don’t want to sit for further placements you can just go home.

Now that we are done with this context, let’s look at my story.

My final college exams ended on 2025-08-20 and I got placed on 2025-09-01. There was no overlap between my academics and my hiring process. It couldn’t have been any better.

Shortlisting

Context: My CGPA at the time was 8.54, which is generally not good enough to sit for Super dream placements

I was not shortlisted in any company till this point.

So, I was not even searching for my name when the shortlists were getting released.

The moment I realised I had been shortlisted:

I was in the lift going to mess for snacks

Charchit messaged me ‘All the best for Tekion’

I realise I am shortlisted

Online Assessment

I was very lucky that the online assessment was held offline in the college lab.

Reason? Cheating.

On 2025-08-24 I had to go through the Tekion Online Assessment along with 241 students from all 4 campuses (52 from my campus)

Then on 2025-08-26 Online Assessment result was revealed and 17 students were shortlisted for interviews (2 from my campus)

I was one of these two.

Interview

First Round

Data structures and Algorithms Round

  • Graph - NetworkDelay problem
  • Number of distinct elements in subarray of size k

I went to our college’s lab complex for interview

Round was scheduled for 1000-1100 but for some reason mine was rescheduled for 1200-1300

How it went:

Solved both problems well before time, thanks Competitive Programming

I was communicating my thought process very well to the interviewer, thanks NDA/SSB prep

Second Round

After reading all the Interview Experiences for Tekion I was expecting Low Level Design round. I had even bought a course for 399 and studied from it.

But to my surprise the interview was based on frontend which was later converted to LLD round coz I didn’t know jackshit frontend

Round was from 1600 till 1700

Interviewer says it is frontend round

Panik

Convince interviewer for LLD

Interviewer agrees

Asks LLD problem

I do OK

After this round I had lost hope of going through to the HR round.

Wait for e-mail regarding further process

1 hour passes. No response

Ask Sriram sir what to do

He says go to hostel

I was returning from lab complex to hostel having lost all hope of progressing further

Reached my room and was about to change from formal to casual clothes

Then I got an email and my HR round was scheduled from 1930 to 2000

Third Round

HR Round.

Questions around my personal projects and group projects.

He talked about the company

What the company does and all

I zone out

During conversation, found out he is a football fan too.

Asked favourite club, Real Madrid.

Both say Hala Madrid XD

Round ended and I was pretty confident of my selection: the company wouldn’t spend its resources on HR interview if I had not passed the earlier rounds.

Result

On 2025-09-01 Interview results were revealed and I was selected for Tekion Corp along with 2 others

Afternoon

Phone battery dead

All roommates were out of room

I was watching some series on my tablet

Legs on one chair ass on the other

Harsh from 1st floor comes to my room

I suspect something is off

He is wondering why am I not celebrating

He says result is out

I jump and check

BOOM! Selected.

And to think that this was the only company I was shortlisted for.
